Terms of Service
Effective July 17, 2026
Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Transom, a marketing alignment platform operated by Transom ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using Transom on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization and that the organization agrees to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Transom.
The service
Transom connects product changes to your marketing assets. When a change arrives — via our API, the GitHub App, or manually — we analyze its impact, identify affected marketing assets, and draft recommended updates. Every recommendation is a suggestion; Transom never writes to, publishes to, or modifies your external systems or assets without your explicit action.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes where practicable.
Accounts
Registration
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Team members
You may invite others to your workspace. You are responsible for ensuring that team members comply with these Terms. Each member must have their own account — credential sharing is not permitted.
Account security
Notify us immediately at support@transom.so if you believe your account has been compromised. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your account.
Your content
You retain ownership of all content you submit to Transom — including website URLs, product change descriptions, integration data from Notion, Google Drive, or GitHub, and any other material you provide ("Your Content").
By submitting content to Transom, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to provide the service. We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and we do not sell Your Content to third parties.
You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit Your Content and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Transom to:
- Submit content that infringes intellectual property rights, violates privacy, or is unlawful, harmful, or deceptive
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, other users' accounts, or Transom's infrastructure
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or copy the service or its outputs in a way that competes with Transom
- Use the service in ways that impose unreasonable load or disrupt access for other users
- Circumvent any rate limits, authentication mechanisms, or security controls
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these rules at our discretion.
Integrations and third-party services
Transom connects to third-party services — including GitHub, Notion, and Google Drive — on your behalf when you authorize those connections. Your use of those integrations is also governed by the respective provider's terms of service.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of third-party services. Revoking an integration's access in the connected service may disrupt Transom features that depend on it.
API access
If you access Transom via our API using an API key, you are responsible for keeping that key secure. API keys may be revoked at any time if we detect misuse. You may not share API keys or use them in publicly accessible client-side code.
Billing and subscriptions
Free tier
Transom offers a free tier with limited usage. Specific limits are described in the product and may change with reasonable notice.
Paid plans
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Prices and plan details are available at sign-up and may change with 30 days' notice.
Refunds
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by applicable law. If you cancel a paid plan, your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Taxes
You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your use of Transom that are not collected by us.
Intellectual property
Transom and its content — including the software, design, trademarks, and documentation — are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property law. These Terms do not grant you any rights in Transom's IP beyond what is necessary to use the service.
AI-generated outputs (recommended updates, drafts) are provided to you as suggestions. You own any content you create using those suggestions. We make no representations about the IP status of AI-generated text.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using Transom, you agree to the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Disclaimers
Transom is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
AI-generated recommendations and drafts are suggestions — not professional marketing, legal, or editorial advice. You are responsible for reviewing and approving all content before use.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Transom and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption — arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
Our total liability for any claim related to these Terms or the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100.
Termination
You may stop using Transom and delete your account at any time from your account settings.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, for extended inactivity on a free account, or if we discontinue the service. We will provide reasonable notice where practicable, unless the termination is due to a serious violation.
Upon termination, your right to use Transom ceases. Sections covering intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution survive termination.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the service will be resolved by binding arbitration rather than in court, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for IP infringement or unauthorized access.
If you are an EU or UK resident, nothing in these Terms limits your rights under applicable consumer protection law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or with a notice in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of Transom after that date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
